Absentee Ballot Instructions

1. Very Important: In order to ensure that your absentee ballot will be counted, it should be completed and returned as soon as possible so that it is received by 7:00 p.m. on election day at the Supervisor of Elections office.

2. Mark your ballot in secret as instructed on the ballot. You must mark your own ballot unless you are unable to do so because of blindness, disability, or inability to read or write. See the example below.

a. If you spoil your ballot (damage or make an error) you can obtain a replacement by calling our office at 850-784-6100. 
 

This graphic shows the right and wrong way to mark a ballot - You must fill in the oval for your vote to count. Any other mark may not be read by the voting machine. Do not use a check, an X, or a dash to mark the oval.

3. Place your voted ballot in the enclosed secrecy envelope.

4. Insert the secrecy envelope into the enclosed mailing envelope which is addressed to the Supervisor of Elections.

5. Seal the mailing envelope and completely fill out the Voter's Certificate on the back of the mailing envelope.

6. VERY IMPORTANT: Sign your name on the line above "Voters Signature" in the box as indicated by the arrow.

7. Mail, deliver, or have delivered the completed mailing envelope. Be sure there is sufficient postage if mailed.

FOR YOUR BALLOT TO COUNT, it must reach the Supervisor of Elections office by 7:00 p.m. on election day.

VOTED ABSENTEE BALLOTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT ANY POLLING PLACE. If you decide to vote at your polling place on election day, take the absentee ballot to the polling place clerk to be canceled.
