Dear Bay County Residents and Voters:
It doesn’t seem possible that a major election can be won by just two votes, but to all of you who voted for me as your School Board candidate, all 22,546 of you, I appreciate your support! To those who voted for my very worthy opponent, please know that he was my friend before the election and will continue to be my friend after the count. Also, I know I will rely on him in the future as my “historical” voice.
To my supporters – I don’t know what I would have done without you. And, to my “brain trust” – WE DID IT! But more than anything, to my husband, Tom, our children and grandchildren – I appreciate your support, patience (when I wasn’t always available), and love … through it all. For the future of all of our children and grandchildren, I believe the sacrifice was well worth it.
Howard Schultz, founder of Starbucks has a quote I love: “Care more than others think wise. Risk more than others think safe. Dream more than others think practical. Expect more than others think possible.” I followed that sentiment when I was called to run, and will certainly live by Romans 8:28.
I ask for your prayers, wise counsel and feedback. My office phone is 769-4345 and I will have an e-mail address through the Bay District Schools’ website. I look forward to hearing from you as we all work to improve our school system and raise the level of excellence for our children.
Pat Sabiston Bay County School Board Member, District 1
