Comments :

Mike Nelson was raised in Bay County. Mike attended Bay High School has been married to his wife, Mary Anne, for 22 years. Mike is a father of 4 children as well as 2 grandchildren.

Mike has served as a Panama City Commissioner, and previously as a Bay County Commissioner.

Mike currently serves on the Board of Deacons as Treasurer of First Presbyterian Church.

If re-elected, our initial goals are to continue working on the following projects:

Water Supply
We're making positive movement towards establishing additional water supply in the northern reaches of our county should we encouter a problem with Deer Point Lake, our single source of fresh water. This effort is being funded in part by a grant from the Northwest Florida Water Management District.

Sewer Capacity
We're putting the finishing touches on the purchase of Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative's water and sewer system to reduce the number of septic tanks used and further protect our watershed as the county continues to develop towards the North.

Deer Point Lake
We're taking steps towards lowering the pumps at Deer Point to enable our continued use of the drawdown for weed eradiction while eliminating damage to exposed pumps.
