Comments :

The Republican Party in Bay County has experienced tremendous growth. Growth brings in new people with new enthusiasm, fresh ideas and a commitment to the citizens of Bay County and the Republican Party.

The State Committeeman is one of three people (non-legislative and non-paid) within the county that has a vote with the Republican Party of Florida. The other two votes are cast by the County Chairman and the State Committeewoman. These three positions also have a vote at the second congressional meetings. As a voting member of the Republican Party of Florida and the Second Congressional District, it is vital that we have someone that represents Bay County. The meetings occur on a quarterly basis and it is important that the people of Bay County are represented at those meetings.

What does it take to be an affective state committeeman? It takes someone that is committed to the Republican Party, committed to progress and willing to be a positive force in Bay County. I am that person and I need your vote to represent Bay County.

I have been told that this is the first time in Bay County’s history that the position of State Committeeman has been challenged and put in the hands of Bay County voters. Another “first” in Bay County happened recently when we became the majority registered party in Bay County. You now have the opportunity to choose a person that will bring fresh ideas and new enthusiasm. When asked his opinion of contested elections, Bobby Roberts, Chairman of the Bay County Republican Executive Committee, said; “I welcome new people to the process, so we don’t become stagnant.” I decided to answer Mr. Roberts’ call and offer myself to the voters of Bay County.

I grew up in Panama City and graduated from Bay High School. After spending four years in the Air Force I returned to Panama City with my wife and daughter. I attended Gulf Coast Community College and then received my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of West Florida, while working in federal service at Tyndall AFB. My career with federal service forced us to move out of state. After raising our family in the New Orleans area I took early retirement from my career as an accountant and my wife and I again returned home to Panama City. Today, I own my own business and work as a Financial Consultant with Roberts Financial Planning Services, Inc.

I am very active in our community and serve on multiple boards and committees. I would like to see the Republican Party expand its influence and respect in Bay County and I would appreciate your vote and support.
