1973-1974 Panama City Police Department (Patrol Officer).
1974-1975 Gulf County Sheriff's Office (Patrol Deputy).
1976-1995 Bay County Sheriff's Office (Patrol Deputy, rank of Lieutenant in Special Investigations, Captain of Criminal Investigations Division).

1995-2003 Gulf County Sheriff's Office (Sheriff).
2003- Present (Appointed Sheriff of Bay County) by Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

Achievements:
1993 - Florida Law Enforcement Officer of the year.
1995 - Interim Sheriff (Gulf County).
1996 - Elected Sheriff of Gulf County, Florida.
2000 - Elected Sheriff of Gulf County, Florida. 2nd term (Unopposed).
2003 - Interim Sheriff of Bay County, Florida.
Florida Sheriff's Association Member, Board of Directors, Florida Sheriff's Task Force Zone 1 Chairman, DEA Certified, Clandestine Drug Laboratory Investigator.
