	Comments :	Citizen of Springfield, You may remember me from my time in Springfield as a Police Officer and as your Police Chief. I have been persuaded by fellow citizens of Springfield to seek the office of mayor. After a lot of thought and prayer, I have decided to do so. The main reason for this decision is that I would be able to do what I have done for 22 years, Serve the people of Springfield. I have served the public for 30 years (more than half of my life) as a Law Enforcement Officer, I know well, the meaning of "Public Servant" and how one should serve. Serving under eight mayors in two different communities. I had the opportunity to work closely with each mayor and the City Commissioners. Due to this experience, I have more than a working knowledge of the honor, duties, and responsibilities entrusted to the office of Mayor. Springfield is my home. Like you, I have worked, and raised my family here. I am prepared to do my very best to make Springfield a more peaceful and prosperous place to live for all the citizens. The people are the heart and soul of the community. You know what is good, and what is not. You know what needs to be changed and what needs to be left alone. Your input to the mayor's office is vital to the betterment of the City of Springfield. My pledge to you, when elected, is this. I will serve you with Honor, Honesty and Integrity. The door to the Mayor's office will always be open to you. I will be from the moment elected, Your Mayor.
