To the Citizens of Callaway,
I was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. Yes, a true Floridian, who moved to Callaway in 1998, and sincerely glad that I did, I love this city. I have been truly happy and have had the wonderful opportunity in the past 9 years to work for one of the major financial stabilities in this community, Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation.
I have three children, 2 boys and a girl, and 7 wonderful grandchildren. Also, an added privilege of my life is to have taken in 15 habitual runaway teens from the state, they have been an added blessing. I’ve been a guardian ad litem in the state of Florida for the protection of abused and abandoned children and have been involved in their care all of my adult life.
I stand strong against any taxes that burden the citizens of Callaway. We must cut extravagant spending and focus only on the necessities, if we are to protect our city. I strongly, seriously and actively support environmental issues in Callaway, with a real focus on storm water runoff. We need to help solve this issue for our citizens.
My promise to you…….. I will have an open door policy to each of our citizens alike and equal. All suggestions, concerns and other problems with our city, with which I am approached, will be taken in strong consideration. These will be brought to the attention of our entire commission for discussion. I have a strong outspoken personality, and will speak up with the people's vote. I feel so very fortunate to be living in a community that so many of its citizens are wise and knowledgeable to the concerns of the city. These citizens are the ones that I will rely on to guide me to make intelligent choices through tough decisions. These citizens are the “building blocks” of our community. We are lost if the commissioners do not listen. I will listen, and my vote will reflect that of the citizens.
I am asking for your vote and support. Please give me a chance to serve you, the citizens of Callaway, and to be your Commissioner for Ward 4 for the years of 2008 through 2012.
