Priorities
• Safety: Strongly support additional traffic control devices at various intersections within our city to aide the safety of our school children and their families in reaching their destination to and from school.
• Public Safety Center: Another major impact I wish to propose in the form of grants is to provide a new Public Safety Center for our police and fire personnel and support staff. This multi-purpose facility will accommodate our growing needs and enhance the safety of our community.
• Youth Center: Pursue funding through federal grants and local businesses for a new youth center to provide our local families with a variety of activities in an environment conducive for recreational and educational needs.
• Seniors: Strongly supporting senior activities making more facilities accessible; devising a plan to have seniors involved with a Seniors Advisory Board to report to the council on issues which are vital and important through the eyes of our senior citizens.
• Spring Break: Return Panama City Beach to a family destination during Spring Break. We have owned property here since the late 1960s; my vision is to return our city to a family-friendly destination similar to the times of my youth when times spent here are filled with lasting memories.
• City Services: Promoting and supporting the plans for a new library; strengthen the entire City employee benefit package which will assist in retaining our existing employees to help reduce the loss of employees to other jurisdictions.
• Tourism: Focus on returning PCB to a family-vacation environment to promote the local economy; continue working with the Tourism Development Council (TDC) to promote more youth sports tournaments to the area (previously, I was instrumental in promoting our city to secure major-national tournaments to this area … these tournaments provide a major impact to our economic structure, exceeding millions of dollars in our local economy).
• Taxes: Securing more tournaments, more family-oriented vacations, and supporting our hospitality tax-base system, we can maintain our 1% sales tax advantage.
• Recycling: Support program to encourage consumer recycling of paper/plastic/aluminum/glass which will benefit our city with reduction in garbage fees and reduce landfill usage.
• Growth: Provide long-range planning for our rapidly growing community.
