| Comments : | I retired from BellSouth after 26 years, 3 months and 6 days. I'm a project manager by trade but have several years experience in budgets and planning. I moved to PCB in 1996 after falling in love with the place and commuting to and fro since 1978. From Jan 2001 thru Jan 2008 I have attended all but a dozen or so Planning Board and City Council meetings. I was Code Enforcement Hearing Officer for the City and am currently on the Planning Board. I am an independent thinker with no alignment to any group or faction. I am not anti growth (I am much in favor of places like SeaHaven, Grand Panama and Pier Park and most aspects of the CRA project) BUT I am seriously pro resident and always start out from that perspective as I seek common ground to problem solution. The following are direct quotes from the News Herald 4 years ago when I ran for Ward 4. "The residents and residential areas need a voice." "PCB must decide what it wants to do with the North side of Front Beach Road, deciding what to do with Back Beach is also important." Preserving neighborhoods with acceptable mixes of land use categories and management of the City budget are high priorities." "If you are happy with where we are headed, good for you, but if you think we should be doing something different or look at issues from another perspective, you should vote for me." I stand by those words. That was 4 years ago. We could have done better. We will do better. |
