Campaign Goals
I am looking forward to bringing a “common sense” approach towards solving the problems that face our children and schools here in Bay County. As a concerned parent and School Board member, I want to help the students at all grade levels continue to improve and excel in their academic studies, and make sure they are able to do that in a safe, healthy and positive learning environment.

To do this, I want to emphasize and support those programs that are working best in our schools that give our children the opportunity to succeed and grow. I plan to help develop new programs and policies to meet the needs in those areas of study that are not currently being met.

For over fifteen years I have made countless visits to every school here in Bay County doing my job as the health and environmental safety inspector for the Bay County Health Department. I have seen first-hand, the many problems facing our youth, their teachers, and school administrators. I have solved the problems that my position would allow me to, but have always wished that I could have done so much more. My successful background and experience in public health service, with the US Army and the State of Florida, qualifies me as a proven evaluator and decision maker. I am an innovative team builder and able participant in community education activities and have received state recognition for such accomplishments.

We must implement and sustain effective leadership, creative budgeting, as well as parental involvement in the present school system. As concerned parents, grandparents and citizens we must be ready to take action and become more involved in the various activities that our youth are encountering in school today.

Now, I’m asking the people of Bay County to give me the opportunity to help make those much needed changes in our schools. Our children deserve the very best education that we can provide them; one that they will need to meet the challenges in their futures. To accomplish this goal, I will work closely with both parents and teachers in clearing away the obstacles that are currently blocking our children from getting their desired education and insure that “no child is left behind.”
